September 2007, Please be aware that we have built a new mail server.

NEW Artsci Mail Server

http://webmail.artsci.net, please make a note of it.



INSTRUCTIONS for changing your computer for the new email:

To access your mail on our new mail server, you need to modify your email program's server settings.

If you have a domain hosted with us, your domain name will be part of your server address, so if your email address is you@mydomain.net, your Incoming (POP/IMAP) setting will be mail.mydomain.net. or mail.artsci.net

Port 25 Blocking If your ISP blocks sending mail on port 25, you can use port 587

If your OUTGOING mail settings are currently set to mail.artsci.net - you will also need to change this to mail.yourdomain.net

In Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express,
1.) Click on Tools / Options
2.) Double-click the email account
3.) Change the Incoming mail server name to the appropriate mail.yourdomain.com address.
4.) If your Outgoing mail server is mail.artsci.net, then also change it to mail.yourdomain.net.

In Mozilla Thunderbird:
1.) Click on Tools / Account Settings
2.) Click Server Settings
3.) Change the server name to the appropriate mail.yourdomain.com address.
4.) Click on Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the left column.
5.) if your Outgoing Server is mail.artsci.net, change it to the appropriate mail.yourdomain.net address.

In Apple Mail
1.) Click on Mail from the upper left \ Preferences
2.) Click the Accounts Tab
3.) Click the apropriate account.
4.) under "Account Information", change the "Incoming Mail Server" to mail.yourdomain.net.
5.) Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), if your outgoing mail server is mail.artsci.net, change it to mail.yourdomain.net
